MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN
CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC
LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, - -
MONDAY, FEBRUARY- 18, 1952. . -
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular
session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday
February 18, 1952, at the hour of 8: 30 P.M. Councilman,:Eastman pre-
siding with the following members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Bald-
win, Kettelforder, Law, Marino; Salzarulo, Tracy and Youngflesh. The
IIfollowing business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of-the Previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Beck filed with the City Clerk a copy of the instructions to
bidders,- proposal, contract and specifications for Steam Generator for
the new plant. Bids on this equipment to be received Monday, March
17, 1952.
C,3 • Councilman Alkire moved that the request for a street light at North
+ 14th Street, between North "H" and North "J" Streets be` rejected,
;v seconded by Councilman Salzarulo and ' on voice vote was carried.
ct Mr. Beck reported that negotiations were still under way with the
trustees of the Richmond State Hospital relative to the hospital' s
request for a proposal to purchase power from the City.
Mr. Beck reported that he had personally, with the aid of the Police
Department, startethe retiming of the Main Street traffic lights by
order issued from the: Mayor. It will take some time to make the
timing satisfactory' to move traffic along said street.
No action was taken on the future site of the proposed new plant. A
report was given, on the recent trip to the American Aggregates site
by some of the members of Council.

The Committee allowed the claims in the amount of. $107,820. 73. The
following transfers were allowed included in this' amount. Transfer
the sum of $1, 661. 33 from Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash to Cash
Operating Fund; $15, 000. 00 from Cash Operating Fund_
Sinking Fund;
$21, 950. 30 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash.
