CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT Monday, January 7, 1952 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Light- ing and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, January 7, 1952, at the hourI/ of 8:0.0 o' clock P.M. Councilman Eastman presiding with the follow- ing members being present: Messrs. Alkire, Baldwin, Kettelforder, . Law, Marino, Salzarulo, Tracy and Youngflesh. The following busi- ness was had, to-wit: - On motion duly made , seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Beck reported that there is on hand 65* days supply of coal at the plant and this is just about the storage capacity of the plant. Councilman Marino moved that the General Manager be authorized to prepare and Publish in the local newspaper the 1951 Financial State- ment for the Light Plant, seconded by Councilman Salzarulo and on voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Beck reported that Easthaven was taking about 4.500 KWH each day and did not know haw long this would continue. The committee authorized the General Manager to confer with the State Highway Commission about the plans for the street lighting on the anticipated new Overpass over the Penna. R.R. at North 10th Street. On motion made by Councilman Law, seconded by Councilman Marino and unanimously carried, the General Manager was authorized to have the City Attorney prepare an agreement between t1.e Light Plant and the Standard Store located at N.W. 5th & Main Streets, and the Chairman of the Committee and the City Clerk to sign said agreement. This is for the collection of bills for the Light Plant. Councilman Baldwin moved that the $4, 000. 00 that was carried on the Light Plant books for the year 1951 for the current donated to the Reid Memorial Hospital be allowed. This motion was seconded by Councilman Law and on voice vote was unanimously carried. The claims in the amount of ? 4.24 , 425.00 were allowed. Of this amount $300, 000.00 was paid to the Civil City of Richmond, Indiana. There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
