MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY. OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS'A COMMITTEE IN
CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC
LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, MONDAY, DULY 2, 1951.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as .a
committee in charge of operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and
Power Plant, 'met in regular session in 'the office of the Board of Public
Works and Safety in the City Hall in said City, Monday, July 2, 1951, at
the hour of 7:30 o'slock P.M. (CST) Councilman Chambers serving as
Chairman Pro-tem. The following members being present: Messrs. Baldwin,
Eastman, Law, Marino, Tracy and Youngflesh. Councilmen Harris and Myers
being absent. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of
the previous meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Beck reported that the System Demand was down somewhat from the month
of. June, -1950. This was attributed to- several- of the larger factories
being down. - -
By unanimous consent of Council, the amendment to the Coal Clause of the
contract between Indiana-Michigan and the Light Plant was signedby

• By unanimous consent of Council, Mr. Beck was given authority to have a
Real Estate man go out and shop for a tract of ground, not less than CFO'
acres, for a site for the new plant, and obtain an option if the suitable
site is located.
The committee allowed the claims in the amount of., $111,147.05.,
There being no further business presented, on motion made, seconded and
unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned. -
