HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-17-1950 6 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT, NiONDAY, JULY 17, 1950.. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the Board of Works Room in the City Hall in said City, Monday, July 17, 1950, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. (CST) . Councilman Harris presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Marino, Myers, Russell and Tracy. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: 11 On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the pre- vious meeting were dispensed with. Councilman Tracy moved that the sum of $200,000.00 be transferred from Cash Operating Fund to the Cash Reserve Fund.. Councilman Marino seconded this motion, and on voice vote, the motion was unani- mously carried. 0 Mr. Beck presented the following proposals from various automobile dealers for the purchase of two cars with trade-in on two cars: Wallar Motors - Ford: 6 cyl. Ford - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Studebaker, Total Priced 1138.75 8 cyl. Ford - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Studebaker, Total Price 1212.25 6 cyl. Ford - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Plymouth, Total Price 1013. 75 8 cyl. Ford. - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Plymouth, Total Price 1087.25 Brown Motors Company - Plymouth: 97 H.P. Ply. - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Studebaker, Total. Price 1255. 45 97 H.P. Ply. - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Plymouth, Total Price 1255.45 Willoughby Chevrolet Company - Chevrolet: 1950 Chevrolet - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Studebaker, Total Price 1240.00 1950 Chevrolet - Trade-in allowance on 1941 Plymouth, Total Price 1200.00 Brower Motors - Studebaker: 1950 Studebaker- .Trade-in allowance on 1941 Studebaker, Total Price 1237.50 1950 Studebaker- Trade-in allowance on 1941 Plymouth, Total Price 1237.50 Councilman Tracy moved that the proposal of Brown Motors Company for a Plymouth and trade-in on Studebaker be accepted. Councilman Marino seconded this motion, and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. Councilman Marino moved that the proposal of the Wallar Motors for a Ford V-8 with a trade-in on 1941 Plymouth be accepted. Councilman Myers seconded this motion, and on voice vote the motion was unanimous- ly carried. Mr. Beck presented several proposals from tree trimming companies to trim trees for the Light Plant. Councilman Tracy moved that the White- water Forestry Corporations proposal be accepted. Councilman Marino seconded this motion and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. 7 Page #2 - On recommendation of Mr. Beck, Councilman Tracy moved that the services of Sargent and Lundy, engineers, be retained by the Light Plant to make a preliminary survey of plant expansions, at a cost of L,500.00. Councilman Myers seconded this motion and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. The Committee allowed the claims in the amount of 0287, 915.46, with IIthe following transfers: Transfer the sum of 021, 158. 90 from Cash Operating Fund to Depreciation Reserve Fund; Transfer the sum of 0200, 000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Cash Reserve Fund; and Transfer the sum of 0616.36 from Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash to Cash Operating Fund.
