PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON-COU R:ILOF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
• SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL
.ELECTRIC -LIGHTING-AND-PO,AER PLANT,- MONDAY-,- JULY 3; -1950. -
The Common CJuncil_of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee
in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant,
met in regular session in' the Council Chambers.- in the, City Hall 'in. said City,
Monday, -July 3, 1950, at the hour of 7:301P,.M.-, (CST). Councilman Harris
presiding with:the following members being -pre,:ser_t:. Messrs. Baldwin, Chamb-
ers., :Eastman,. -Lair, Marino, Myers, Russell, and. Tracy. The following proceed-
ings were had, to-wit: -
On matian duly made seconded and carried; the'minutes of the previous meet-
ing were dispensed with. •
•
The presiding officer announced that this Meeting was being held on the •
question of the payment of dividend from. the 'earnings of the Light Plant to
the Civil City of Richmond, Indiana, if any. The floor was now open for,
-any taxpayers present who desired to express themselves on the question and
to.limit their speech to a minimum length of time.
Council Heard all the persons present that desired to express themselves on
• 'rt d the question.
Councilman Law moved that the sum of $300,000;00 be paid from the Light Plant
earnings to the Civil City of Richmond. _ Councilman Chambers seconded this
motion. -

Councilman Tracy moved that the motion of Co`unc Jman LaW be amended and that
- the sum .of $200,000.00 be paid from the Light Plant earnings to the Civil
City of Richmond•. Councilman Marino - seconded this motion. "
The presiding officer stated that this Body would vote by roll call on the
amendment to the motion. The following -vote -was recorded: Ayes: -Baldwin,
Marino , Myers;- :Tracy and Harris: Nayst Chambers, Eastman, Law- and Russell.
• •The- vote being ,5_to 4+ in favor of the motion.to pay the Civil` City of Rich-
mond $200,000.00 from the Light Plant earriinge. - -
The presiding officer stated that this Body would vote by roll call on the
payment of $200,000.00 to the Civil City from the-Light Plant earnings. On
the call of the roll; the following vote was recorded: Ayes: Baldwin,
• Marino-;• Myers, Tracy and Harris; Nays: Chambers, Eastman, Law and Russell,
- The vote being 5 to !-I- in favor of the payment of the sum of $200,000.04,
as a dividend to the Civil, City from the Light Plant and so ordered.
The committee allowed the claims in the amount of $S0,4+05.60. - -

• There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and
carried, the meeting adjourned. -
