S.C. Mr. Beck reported that the Plant' s firm capacity would be reached by the end of this year. The Plant has a 37 day supply of coal in reserve. This amount has been built up since the close of the coal strike. It is the opinion of the General Manager that this present reserve supply would be enough to survive a railroad strike. Mr. Beck reported that the South "B" distribution feeder should be relieved of some of its. load by the installation of a new sub- station in the southeast section of the City. The Engineering Department of the Plant has been making a survey of a possible site. It was recommended that a piece of suitable ground locat- ed_ near the intersection of Henley Road and Backmeyer Road could be purchased at a reasonable price and would, be very suitable for a sub-station site. Councilman Russell moved that this Body give Mr. Beck authority to purchase the required amount of land at the intersection of Henley Road and Backmeyer Road for a new sub-station and the price not exceed One Thousand Dollars ( p1, 000.00) . This motion was seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote, was carried unanimously. The committee allowed claims in the amount of $69, 217. 76. There being no further business presented, on motion made, second- ed and carried, the meeting adjourned. 45VAAA;AL. . Chairman 40W Ci p, Ole
