HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-17-1950 250 MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MONDAY, APRIL 17TH, 1950 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant, met in regular session in the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Hall in said City, Monday, April 17, 1950, at 8: 30 o' clock P.M. Councilman Harris presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Bald- win, Chambers, Eastman, Law, Marino, Myers, Russell and Tracy. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, 'the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The committee heard a discussion of the new proposed "Electrical Contractor' s and Journeymen' s Ordinance" by Mr. Keen and Mr. D. Hasemeier. The Clerk was instructed to obtain copies of said Ordinances from the Municipal League and from Purdue University for study by this Body. On recommendation of the General Manager, Councilman Chambers moved that the Plant go into contract with the Magaw Company to dredge the Mill Race at the Plant. This motion was seconded by Council- man Tracy and on voice vote was carried and so ordered. No report was given on the progress of the rate adjustments that are to be presented to the Public Service Commission of Indiana. Mr. Beck brought to the attention of the committee, the practice of the past payments of the Light Plant donating free current to operate the lights on St. Andrews Church. No •action was taken to change this procedure. The committee allowed claims in -the amount of $95,556. 72. The follow- ing transfers were in this amount: $273.47 transferred from the Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash to the Cash Operating Fund; $`'21,066.53 from the Cash Operating Fund to the Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash. There being no further business presented, on motion made, seconded and carried unanimously, the meeting adjourned.
