MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL, SERVING
AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION
OF THE MUNICIPAL FTECTRIC LIGHTING AND
POWER.PLANT OF- THE CITY OF RICHMOND, IND.
MONDAY, JUNE 20, 1949.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a - -
committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal. Electric Lighting
& Power Plant, met in regular session in the office of the Board of
-Public Works and Safety in the City Building in said/City, Monday, June
20, 1949, at 7:30 o 'clock P.M. , c.s.t. , Councilman Chambers presiding,
- with the following members being present: . Messrs. Baldwin, Eastman,
Harris, Law, Marino, Myers, Russell and Tracy. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit:

On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the minutes of the
previous meeting were dispensed with:
Mr. Beck advised the committee that he was taking his vacation the second
and third weeks in July. Chairman Chambers to sign all claims during the
absence of Mr. Beck.

Councilman Law reported that he had received numerous calls from residents
on the west side in regard to smoke from the Light Plant.
Mr.. Beck reported that his office has on file complaints dating back to the
year 1941 in regard to the same complaints as Mr. Law had presented.
By unanimous consent of the committee it was approved that Mr. Beck be
given authority to take steps to investigate the cause of the conditions
that exist on the west side and report back to the committee.
The claims in the sum of $77,7g7.69 were allowed. The sum of $S,450.S2
transferred from Depreciation Reserve Fund Cash to General Fund Cash. On
motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the committee adjourned
and will meet in regular session Tuesday, July 5, 1949.
Councilmen Myers and Harris to inspect claims for the month of July.
