A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD OPTING TO
REJECT ALL BIDS AND REPUBLISH THE RFP FOR PRINTING OF THE CITY'S
NEWSLETTER — LYNWOOD N' PERSPECTIVE
WHEREAS, on October 7, 2014, the City Council approved the release of a
Request for Proposals (RFP) for the printing of the City's community newsletter,
Lynwood N' Perspective (LNP); and
WHEREAS, Council has since requested the option of printing 12 issues using
an 8 -page layout to keep the community more informed of City events and help
generate more ad revenue; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received on October 30, 2014 and three proposals
were higher than our current printing costs and the lowest bid was out of state and may
not be able to meet our delivery needs; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the initial RFP was to receive at least three qualifying
proposals in an effort to secure an agreement that would provide the most cost effective
services for the City; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that Council reject all bids, republish the RFP
using the existing eight page layout, with cost options of printing 10 issues and 12
issues; and
WHEREAS, staff's goal is to procure high quality printing services at the best
possible price.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council selects to reject all bids and republish the RFP
for printing of the City's newsletter.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of November, 2014.
