HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-01-1947 173 MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL ,SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POW2R PLANT OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant of said City , met in -the office of the Mayor, Monday, December 1st, 1947, at 7:30 o 'clock P. M. --- Messrs. Chambers, Brehm, Ewbank, Harris, Homan, Marino, •Russell & Tracy being present the following proceedings were had—to-wit; The reading of the minutes of. the previous meeting was dispensed with. The report on generation showed 9,680,000 k. w. for the monthcof November, 1911.7 an increase of 12.9 over the same period in 1946. The peak load for the month of November 1947 was 23,700 k. w. in comparison with 21,000 k. w. for 1946 in the, same period, or an increase of 12.9 percent The generation over a 11 months period showed 101,240,000 k. w. in 1911.7 in comparison with 87,410,000 k. w. in 191+6 an increase of 15.8 percent. • Mr. Stevens discussed with the Committee the matter of giving the employees - of the _Light Plant the usual amount of $5.00 for Xmas and after some discussion on the matter Mr. Marino moved the usual sum of $5.00 be given the employees ►� as usual . With a second by Homan the motion was, approved. On the recommendation of Mr. Stevens the Committee unanimously approved the transfer of $300,000.00 from the General Fund Cash Reserve of the i4. E. I & P. P. to the General Fund Cash of the same said plant. Motion by Homan . Second by Tract. Mr. Stevens reported the Coal situation was serious and deserved careful consideration stating the drain on the local mines for foreign shippments was some responsible for the situation. 111 . After allowing claims in the amount of $ 85,307.81 on proper motion the meeting adjourned. c 7 President Attest; dc-447 City Clerk
