MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL ,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELEC'iTRIC LIGHTING & POWER. PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RI C1fl OND , INDIANTA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
& Power Plant of said City ,, met in the office of the Mayor, Monday-,
September 15th, 1947 at g:j0 o'clock P. M. --- Messrs. Brehm, Ewbank,
Harris, Homan,Kinder, Marino, Russell & Tracy being present the following
proceedings were had to-wit; -
The reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting was dispensed with. Ill
Mr. Stevens reported he had contacted a tree expert to take over the
trimming of trees over the light lines in the City as they were equipped
for such work and it would be better economy to have this work done by
people who were familiar with the work.
Mr. Stevens stated a request from the Merchants Association had been
made in regard to the usual contribution of electric current for Xmas
lighting also for assistance from City Firemen on their of days in placing
the usual decoration on Main Street.
Mr. Homan moved that Mr. Stevens be authorized to go ahead with the
usual proceedure on the Xmas Lighting and that free current be furnished
for the same. .
Mr. Stevens gave a report on the Coal situation stating the Railroad
Company was asking an increase in freight rates which if granted would
cause a substantial increase in the price of Coal delivered.
After allowing claims in the amount of $56,5g5.54 on proper motion the
meeting adjourned.
