MEETING OF SHE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS: A.
COMMITTEE"IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
& Power Plant of said City , met in the office of the Mayor, Monday,
August hth, 1947 at S:30 P. M. --- Messrs. Chambers, Ewbank, Harris,
Homan. Kinder, Marino, Russell & Tracy being present the following
proceedings were had to-wit'
The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed
with.
The report on generation for the month of July showed S,S24,000 k. w.
10.4 percent above the same period of last year , the peak load in the
month.of July was 2$,500 k. w. an increase of 12 percent over the same
period for last year.
Mr. Stevens stated there was an increase of 1S.2 percent in generation
the first 7 months of this year 1947 ,over the same period of last year 1946.
The report on Coal at the .plant showed a 52 day supple on hands, in storage
and Mr. Stevens stated he would not recommend the purchase of more' Easte/n
Coal at present for storage as the price was exceedingly high unless,a eo
of coal could be purchased .on the open market at a reasonable price.
After allowing claims in the amount of $52,S33.59 on proper motion
the meeting adjourned.
