MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
& Power Plant of said City , met in the office of the Mayor, Monday,
June 2nd, 1947 at g:30 o°clock P. M. -- Mrssrs. Chambers, Ewbank, Harris,
Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell& Tracy being present the following procee-
dings were had to-wit;
The reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting was dispensed with;
A report on generation for the month:of May ,1947 showed 8,740,000 k. w.
compared with 7,164,000 k. w. for the the same period in 1946 an increase of
22 percent.
The Peak load forsthe month of May 1947 was 21,000 k. w. in comparison
with the same period for 1946 which was 17,700 k. w. showing an increase of
33 percent.
Mr. Stevens stated they would probably be able to get an investment of
around $300,000 in U. S. Treasurer Certificates of the original amount in-
vested from°the' Deroreciation=Fund of the Light Plant qnd the difference
►70 would be returned to the Depreciation Reserve Fund.
Mr. Stevens stated the Coal supply was sufficient to last about 5 weeks
but they would try to obtain as much as possible before July 1st.
After allowing claims in the amount of $ 39S,290.05 on proper motion
the meeting adjourned.
