OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. • „The Qommon, ,Cmi nCil,of. th.e Q3ty-pf i.C2tmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant of said City met in the office of the Board of Works, Monday, October 7th,1946 at g:3O o'clock P. M...--- Messrs. Brehm, Chambers, Ewbank-, Harris, Homan, Kinder Marino, Russell & Tracy being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; . The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Mr. Stevens presented a report on Generation for the month of September 1946 which was. g,387,000 k. w. in comparison with the same period for the previous year. 1945 which was 7;117,000 Nw:r,r nshowing. an- increase of 1,270,000- k. w. or 17.1 percent. The Peak load for the month of September was 20,800 k, w.. in comparison -- for the same month the previous year 1945 , which was 17,500 k. w. showing . - an- increase-of 3300 k. w. or increase of 1s.9 percent.,. Mr Stevens r-eported the new turbin had been assembled, at the factory and was giten the-final test before shinpment to the plant for installation..' It was'reportect,a,lso that the Boiler Co: was being delayed on delivery of the baler on account of .a strike and Probably would be 4 weeks or longer before delivery could be made on the batear. " The Committee discussed the matter of the short shut down at the plant • the previous week and Mr. Stevens stated it .was the fault of one of the re- lief operators, however the •_emi5loyee was a. very competent employee. Mr. Stevens discussed with the Committee the matter Of repairing the stoker for No. 1 Boiler at the Plant giving estimates for the repair of the same,also an estimate for the replacment of the present stoker and after some discussion on the matter it was of the opinion according to the • report of Mr. Stevens that the repaired stoker wogsld not last long enough to „justify the expense for. repairs,fherefore Mr. Tracy moved that Mr. Stevens III • be authorized to proceed with plans for a new stoker for No. 1 Boiler. With a second by Harris the motion was unanimously approved. Mr. Stevens stated to the Committee due to so much distruction in the mens comfort station in the basement at the Light Plant office the place had been closed ; Mr. Stevens stated he had contacted, the Mayor on closing the place which had been closed sihce February and he recommended with-the approval of the Mayor the place closed permanently , this being unanimously approved by the Committee. • After allowing claims in the amount of $153,5S6.9S the meeting adjourned. ..(k: (A2 CY1/1-AAA.-' _ reside t . --JVLIL • Attest; 90-400-)-- , • City Clerk
