MEETING OP THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A

• COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERAATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT •
OF THE CI'Y OF RICHMOND, INDIA tA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee
in charge. of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant
of said City met in the office of the Board of Works. Monday, July 1st, 1946,
at g:30 oaclock P. M. -- Messrs. Brehm, Chambers, Eubank, Harris, Homan, Kinder,
Marino, Russell & Tracy being present the following proceedings wer had to-wit;
The reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting was dispensed with.-
A report was presented and read on the possible installation of Radio
Equippment to serve the Light Plant , Police Department & Fire Department
and some discussion Mr. Harris moved the matter be given further study before
definite action was taken and a report be made at the next regular meeting of
the Committee. With a second by Kinder the motion was approved. -
The report on Generation for the month of July showed 7,502,000
below the same period for last year June , 1945.
The.peak load for the month of June was 19,600 k. w. of all time high
exceeding the previous peak~load by 900 k._ w. the same being 1E1,700.
Mr. Stevens reported there would be a possible .35 cent increase in the price
of Coal used at the Plant also an additional freight rate of 6% : all Indiana Coal
with a possible .0g cent raise for interstate freight on other coal shipments out
of state, he also estimated these increases would total an annual increase -expense
around $32,000.00 for coal alone.

Mr. Stevens reported bids on the boiler. " t -the Plant would be considered
in the near future, the condenser Was installed and the new turbin was on schedule
for September.
Mr. Stevens reported a balance of $249,000.00 in the General Fund Cash. .

After allowing claims in the amount of $11E19E562.94 the meeting adjourned.
