The Common 6ouncil of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant of said City met in the office of the Board of Works Monday, February. 4th, 106, at 8: 30 o'clock P. M. --- Messrs. Brehm, Chambers, .Ewibank, Homan, Kinder, Marino; Russell & Tracy being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. The minutes of the Special Meeting of the Committee held January 21st, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. was read and the minutes showed that the payroll be raised as recommended by Mr. Stevens was unanimously adopted, Councilman Marino offered an objection to the wording of the minutes , stating he was opposed to the recommendation of Mr. Stevens and requested that the minutes show a correction in that Mr. Mar re ,v.oted,No ,on the recommendations of Mr. Stevens apse-to 8alasIss., , which was approved by the rest of the members of the Committee. The report on generation for the month of January , 1946 showed production of 8,198,000 k. w. a 3.5 percent decrease over the same period of last year 1945, which was 8,456,000 k. w. Mr. Stevens stated a portion of the decreas was due to to the shut down of International Harvester & Crosley Plants. On the recommendation of Mr. Stevens the Committee unanimously approved the renewal of a contract with the Kmox Consolidated Coal ' Corporation of Indianapolis for a period of One Year beginning Feb- ruary 10th, 1946, for the furnishing of Coal at the Light Plant. Mr. Stevens reported a satisfactory agreement had been worked out at the Plant on the matter of salary for Common Labor on construction of the new equipment. The Committee discussed with Mr. Stevens the matter of an advertising program for a period of thirteen weeks over the Local Broadcasting Station for the sum of $370.00 for the period and after further discussion Mr. Kinder moved that Mr. Stevens be authorized to enter into an agreement with the local Broadcasting Station for advertising of Electric Power & Lights im accordance with the sum of $370.00. With a second by Tracy the motion was unanimously approved. A letter was presented to the Committee from the Indiana Municipal League, of Indianapolis requesting that an additional amount of $193.28 besides the original amount of $175.00 for dues set forth in the 1946 budget be paid to he Indiana Municipal League and after some discussion on the matter of the increased amount Mr. Tracy moved that the request for the added amount of $193.28 be rejected. With a second by Kinder the motion was unanimously approved. After allowing claims in the amount of $18,167.32 on proper motion the meeting adjourned. Attest; President 14---- -6-114-21 City Clerk.
