OF THE MJNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. The Common Couacir.of• the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the M{}nicipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant of said City met in the office of the Board of Works Monday, January 21stst, 1946, at 8:30 o°clock P. M. -- Messrs. Cartwright, Chambers, Ewbank, Homan, Marino, Russell & Tracy being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Mr. Ermine Gerken , a representative of the A. F. of L. Labor organ- ization was present in the interest of an adjustment in the scale of wages for common labor on construction work at the plant. The prevailing wage rate has been .73 cents per hour and Mr. Gerken informed the Committee the Minimum wage rate on construction work as at the plant was .80 cents per hour, according to the Statute of the State of Indiana. After some discussion on the matter Mr. Tracy moved this be referred to Mr. Stevens and he be authorized to make'proper adjustment. With a second by Cartwright the motion was unanimously approved. Mr. Stevens stated they had been able to install a few lights where requests had been made for some time by using material that had been in service some place else, and replaced.
