HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-03-1945 123 MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & PO ER PLANT OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting • & Power Plant of said City met in the office of the Board of Works,Monday, December 3rd, 1945, at 8:30 osclock. P. M. --- Messrs. Brehm, Cartwright, Chambers, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell& Tracy being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The reading of the minutes of the preceding meeting was dispensed with. The matter of changing the smoke stacks at the plant in order to take care of the fumes created by the consumption of coal in the boilers was discussed by Mr. Stevens with the Committee. Mr. Homan moved- that $75,000.00 be transferred from the General Fund Cash of of the M. E. L. & P. P of the City of Richmond to the Reserve Fund Cash of the same said Plant. With a second by Tracy the motion was unanimously approved. The report on generation for the month of November. , 1945, showed 7,612,000 k. w. a decrease of 3.9 in comparison with the same period for 1944, which was 7,919,000 k. w. The peak load for the month of November 1945, was 17,700 k. w: showing a decrease of 3.8 percent over the same period for last year 1944 which was 18,400i • k. .w. Mr. Stevens discussed with the Committee the pay-roll rates he had made up for their observation, and the plans were to submitted a copy to each Councilman for further study.
