MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL'S RrING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OP THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC -LIGHTING & POW PLANT
• OF THE CITY OF RTCHMOND, IWTDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
• and Power Plant of said City met in the office of the ,Board of Works
Monday, August 6th, 19)+5 .at $:30 o'clock P. M. --- Messrs. Brehm, Cartwright,
ElsbAnk , Hibberd,Homan , Kinder , Marino Russell and Tracy being present
the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. y.
Mr. Stevens reported due to Government -Controllthe price of Coal had had
been increased four cents on the ton at the mines.
Mr.Stevens gave a report on generation for the month<-:of. July,y191+5 which
showed a production of 7,462,000 k. w. in comparison with 7,4+15,000 k. w.
for the same period in 1944, making an increase of .63 %
The report on the peak load during the month of July ,1945 was 1q;7O0;.
k. w. in comparison with the peak load in the month of July ,• 19u1i which
was 1F ,200. showing an increase of 2.7%e

Mr. Stevens reported he had tabulated the bids and interviewed the bidders
for analytic on the equipment and a meeting was held with Dudley Cartwright,
W. I. Barrows, J. W. Mueller , Earl Muchner, Earl Schepman, and himself,thei
results being that he , Mr. Stevens would recommend that the equipment be
pureha.sed from Babcox & WilcoxIwi la k and chain grate stoker on the
combined bid of $93,4+22.00.
After some discussion on the matter , Mr. Brehm moved that the recommendation
of Mr. Stevens be complied with,and- :that -cont±act lie.negotiated.-withBabcox:&
Wilcox accordingly. With a second by Hibberd the motion was approved.
After allowing claims in the amount of $170.616,Q3 on proper motion
the Committee adjourned,.
