MEETING OP THE COMMON .COUNCIL, SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUMICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
8: Power Plant of said City met in the office of the Board of Works,
• Monday June 4th, 1945, at 8:30 o°clock P. M. --- Messrs. Cartwright,
Eubank, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell & Tracy being present
the following proceedings were had to-.wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.

The Committee discussed the matter of investing Light Plant funds out
of the Depreciation Reserve Fund for United States Treasury Certificates
bearing 7/8 percent interest for a period of one year , due June lst,1946
in the amount of $750,000.00 and after due consideration Mr. Hibberd.
moved that Mr. Stevens be authorized to purchase the amount of $750,000.00
in United. States Treasury Certificates which are due in cash June lst,19)4 .
With a second by Tracy the motion was unanimously approved.
Mr. Stevens presented a roport on Generation for the month of May, 1945
,--; showing a total amount of 7,738,000 k. w. in comparison with the same
r period of 1944, showing a total of 7,516g000 k. w. at increase of 3 %.

Tha peak load for the month of May,1945 was 17,400 in comparison with
17,200,"for the same period in 19144 , showing a difference of 1200 k. w.
an increase of 7.14 percent.
Mr. Stevens stated he hoped to get the specifications out in time to;
receive bids at the second meeting in July for the bailers at the plant
in case of a delay in receiving bids on that date it might be necessary
to call a special session of the Committee on the 23rd day of July, 1945
this matter to be determined at a later date.
III After allowing claims in the amount of $43,868.35 on proper motion
the Committee adjourned.
