MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SMqVING AS
A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUTICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING &POWER PLANT OF
TH7 CITY OF RICHMOND, IiYDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in chatge oaf the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
& Power Plant of said City met in the office of the Board of Works,
Monday April 2nd, 1945, at S:30 oaclock P. M. -- Messrs. Cartwright
Ewbank Hibberci, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell, & Tracy being present
the following proceedings wer had to-wits
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Steven' s report on generation at the Kent showed a decrease
for the Month of March in 1945 of .24 of 1 percent as compared with
the Month of March 1944, but Mr. Stevens stated that due°five Saturdays
being in the Month of March ,1945 when industries activities slow down
which created a reduction in generation would act as a reason for the
difference as compared with 1944 in the same period.
Mr. Stevens reported the loss of a lomg time employee at the Plant
by death of natural causes referring to Asa Adelsperger located at 115
Northwest H Street4

The report for the month of March showed a peak load on generation
of 18,400 k. w. in comparison with the same period for last year which
°t showed a peak load of 16,700 k. w. a difference of 1700 or an increase
of4b.2 percent.
The Committee discussed further the matter of the donation of Electric
Current to the Reid Memorial Hospital and it was the unanimous opinion
that Mr. William Keller be invited to attend the next regular meeting of
the Committee in order to be informed on matters which have been dis-
cissed among the Committee.
The Committee unanimously approved an appropriation of $100.00 to
purchase equipment & etc. for the use of a Municipal- Base Ball Team
managed by John Rizio of the Police Department,
After allowing claims in the amount of $35,476.84 on proper motion
the Committee adjourned.
