COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OP THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POWER PLANT _OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant of said City , met din the office of the Board .of Works, Monday, March 6th,_ 1944, at g:30 o°clock P. M. -- Messrs. Brehm, Cart- wright, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell, Tracy and Wilkins being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; , The,minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Stevens reported that certain materials were now being realeased by W. P. B. and he recommended that if the program which had been antic- ipated in the matter of installing a new turbin and condenser the contract should be re-activated at once, Mr. Stevens also stated he favored new material be purchased as no one could estimate the kind of use and care taken of second hand equipment. Furtther discussion was had by members of Council present and Mr. Tracy moved that the contracts for the purchase of new equipment as to the turbin and condenser &etc be re-activated the the Plant proceed with the program as previously planed. With a second. by Wilkins the Cierk,.called the roll on the adoption of the motion and the vote was recorded as follows; Ayes, Cartwright, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell, Tracy and Wilkins. Hayes, Brehm.' A sufficient number of votes being in the affirmative the motion was de- , clared adopted. A report on Generation showed an increase_ of1:7% for the month of February, 1944 , over the same period of February, 1943. Mr. Stevens gave a report on the outage which had occured at the plant at various timesYstating he had called din the Federal Power Commission to send_a representative to the plant for an investigation and a report would be made later. The Committee discussed the matter of various persons other than ee- employees being permitted to enter the Plant and Mr. Hibberd moved that as an emergency war measure no one be permitted to enter the plant without a pass from the Superintendent or some one deligated by the Superintendent so to do. With a second by Marino the motion was unanimously approved.
