MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN- CHARGE OF THE OPERATION, OF T'E
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC_LIGHTING & POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.°,, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
& Power Plant of the said City , met in the office of the Board of Works
Monday, February 7th, 1944 , at S:30 o'clock P. M. —Messrs. Brehm,
Cartwright, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell, Tracy & Wilkins
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The readthng of the minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved. -
The report on generation at the Plant showed an increase for the
month'of,TJanuary , 1944 over the same period of last year 16.3 per cent.
Mr. Stevens reported repairs on the 16,000 K. W. generator were
completed within a period of five weeks and the gonernor changed on the
15,000 k. w, generator and in full operation.
Mr. Stevens read a report from the insurance Inspector in regard to
the break down of the generator which stated no ususl test would have
detected the trouble which caused the break down Lich-;caused the current to
be discontinued for a two hour period.
Mr. Stevens reported to Council the contract for furnishing Coal to the
Plant had expired with the Knox Consolidated Corporation of Indianaplois,
Indiana, and he recommended that the contract be renewed for a period of
one year from date. Mr. Brehm moved that the recommendation of Mr. Stevens
be complied with. With a second by Tracy the motion was approved.
After allowing claims in the amount of $85,879.35 on proper motion
the Committee adjourned.
