HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-17-1944 75 MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL , SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POW PLANT OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. The Common Council of the City of Ridhmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation, of the Municipal Electric Lighting and Power Plant of the said City , met in the office of the Board of Works, Monday, January 17th, 1944, at gi30 o'clocl P. M. -- Messrs Cart- wright, Hibberd, Homan, Marino, Russell, Tracy and. Wilkins being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Homan was appointed to serve as Chairman of the Committee op- erating the Light Plant for the year 1944. Mr. Stevens presented a. re-port on the earnings of the Light Plant showing the sum of $530,g93.g.7 'less the amount donated to the Civil City leaving a net ballance of $204,130.23. Mr. Stevens stated repair parts for the 10,000 k.wr Generator had arrived previous to the time they were expected and men were work working on the same in 12 hour shifts and the Generator would be back in operation -; in the near future. B. and ner month The Committee was informed that 2,000 ton of Eastern Coal:would be delivered over a period of the next three months and more Indiana coal was being stored at the Plant. City Attorney Keisker explained to the Committee that certain action in regard to the sale of lots in the City was to preserve: a--proportion ,te shared of funds of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant which had been invested in Barrett Law Improvement Bonds in certain sections of the City. On a motion by Tracty with a second by Hibberd the Committee unanimously approved the transfer of $50,000.00 from the General Fund Cash to the General Fund Cash Reserve9 all of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant. Mr. Stevens stated an agreement to furnish transformers by the Westing- house Electric Co. had expired and he recommended that a contract be renewed for the same for a period of one year beginning January 3, 1944. On' a motion by Cartwright and a second by Russell the recommendation of Mr. Stevens was unanimously approved.
