MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING Ai\D ROICR PLANT
`OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operat.ion of the Municipal Electric Lighting
and Power Plant of the said City , met in the office of the Board of
Works , Monday , May 3rd, 1943, at 8:30 oaclock P. M. Messrs. Brehm ,
Cartwright, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell, Tracy and Wilkins
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the nrecedi.ng meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Stevens presented a report on generation for the month of
April showing an increase of 18.9 percent over the same period for
last year.
Council discussed the matter of the usual contribution of electric
current to the Reid Memorial Hospital for the for the year 1943, and
Mr. Tracy moved that the usual amount of Electric Current in the sum
of $3,600.00 be contributed to the Reid Memorial Hospital for the en-
suing year beginning in 1943. With a. second by Brehm the motion was
unanimously approved..
Mr. Stevens gave a report on the Coal situation stating there had
been a number of cars in transient frozen by the Government but had
been released and would arzve later.
City Attorney Keisker reported he had been presented with a claim
for $200.00 by William Stevenson and his Attorney C. R. Richardson,
in regard to an injury Mr. Stevens in supposed to have received in Jan-
uary of 1942, stumbling over a brace wire from a pole located at South
1!th and D Streets. After some discussion on the matter Mr. . .Hibberd
moved that the claim be settled in accordance with the good judgment
of Mr. . Stevens and City Attorney Keisker the claim not to exceed the
sum of $200.00. With a second by Cartwright the motion was approved.
After allowing claims in the amount of $6g,)4 6.21. on proper
motion they adjourned.
