MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL , SERVING; AS A
COMMITTEE IN. CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND POVE_R PLANT
, OF TNF CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
and Power Plant of the said City , met in the office of the Board of
Works Monday, April 5th, 1943, at S;30 o'clock P. M. Messrs. Brehm,
Cartwright, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Marino, Russell, Tracy and Wilkins
being present the following; proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Stevens presented and read a letter. from Clarence Gennett re-
questing aucontribution to the Red Cross be considered from the Light
Plant Funds after which a general discussion was had but no action taken.
A letter was presented to Council from the Board of Public Works &
Safety requesting that the Street Department: be permitted to get all the
cinders they could use before any other distribution was made, Mr. Stevens
stating the request would be complied with.
Mr. Stevens presented a report on generation for the Month of March.
showing 12 2/10 increase over the same period for last year and a general
increase of from 10 to 11 per cent.up. ;:`
A general discussion was held in regard to a possible change in the
hours of opening-and closing the portion of the Light Plant Office which
collects the bills usualy paid by the customers each month. Mr. Stevens stated
the matter had been discussed with other Utility Managers but no definite
conclusions had been reached.
Council authorized Mr. Stevens and City Attorney Keisker to settle
claims due the Light Plant according to and for the best interests of the
Light Plant.
After allowing claims in the amount of $37,120.97 on proper motion
they adjourned.
