MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION_ OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING .& POWER PLANT
OP THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric Lighting
and Power Plant of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of
the Board of Works,Monday, December 21st, 1942, at 8e30 o'clock P. M.
Messrs. Beeson, Cartwright, Hibberd, Homan, Huff, Kinder and Tracy
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and after the follow-
ing corrections were made were approved.
With reference to paragraph 8 in the previous minutes, Mr. Stevens
advised that Mr. Cartwright also made the trip to Washington, and that the
War Production Board had advised our Committee that the power situation
was in much better condition than when they directed us to make an inter-
connection in order to supply them with our surplus power. They advised
that they will not need our surplus now, and instructed us to present
them plans for an interconnection for the purpose of supplying our own
?lant with standby service only.
Paragraph 10. In further explanation of this paragraph, City Attorney
�.; Keisker recommended that we establish a property line between the Light
orb Plant Office lot and the Harrington property , South of this lot as of present
`""3 fence line in the rear., in return for a permanent easment for a front entrance
for the Light Plant Office Lot. This recommendation being made because of
the present fence being established so long that it gives the Harrington
property a claim to this small piece of land by "Adverse Possession".
Mr. Stevens reported the amount"=token::from the".General Fund and placed
in the Consumers Deposit Fund would be approximately $23,000.
Mr. Homan and Mr. Hibberd both expressed their appreciation to members
of Council which had been appointed during the term of four years for their
fine co=operation and Mr. Hibberd moved the same be made a matter of re-
cord. With a second by Kinder the motion was approved.
Mr. Huff & Mr. Beeson responded ,stating they had enjoyed the service
and fellowship with Council and extended to those who serve .for the term
beginning in 1943 a prosperous administration. Mr. Haas the other appointed
member of Council was not present.
The report on generation for the month of December thus far was showing
some increase but not quite as much for the same period of last year,
After allowing claims in the amount of $30,480.89 on proper motion
they adjourned.
