VII The reglar meeting of Town Council was held to-daybat 4:00 p.m. and e4 was attended by the Mayor,who presided and Councilmen Horovitz,Cann, Espy,and Logan. 1.4 A petition -as read from M.Tenenbaum requesting refund of liscense of ; 15.00 assessed against but on motion of Yr Logan that refund not be made,seconded by Er Espy,the motion passing,Mr Tenenbaum was so advised. 1 01 A petition was read from E.J.Oliver,for himself and associates,that the Town accept 10 feet each of lots 104 and 105,ward 5 and maintain same for street purposes. The matter was referred to the Tarn Attorney for handling. A petition was read from the Tybrisa Amusement Oo.prequesting refund of fine imposed upon Blue Steele amounting to :$ 50.00 and on motion of Mr Cann that it be refundedoseconded by Mr Espy,the motion passed. The Mayor called attention to Colonel Burt leaving Port Screven in the near future and auggested that as the Colonel has always been so interested in the welfare of the island,that he thought that a suit- able testimonial of appreciation be given him . The Clerk called attention to the fact that there was not an adequate liscense charge for poreer and lighting companies and on motion Logan seconded by Mr.Horovitz that the liscense for power and lighting companies be 100.00 for each power and ligh ing company annually,the 411 motion passed. There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor. Clerk f Council. Mayor. Town of Tybee,Ga.,August 3rd 1928. The regular meeting of Council,was held to-day at 4:00 p.m. and, was attended by the Mayor,who presidedvand Councilmen Logan,Horovitz, Cann and. Espy. The Mayor discussed plans that had been dellsed to remedy the situation at Lovell Station and said that based upon present estimates of expected income available for this work that there would be a shortage of about 1800.00. The Central Jai1road having agreed to haul everything inci- dentd1 to the work free of charge. A petition to place a tent on Izlar avenue was read and it was agreed that if the owner whose property the tent was placed .on complied with; 0 all sanitary requirements and would give the owner of the tent permission to use same that thw petition would be granted. A new map of the entire island scaled 300 f_et to 1 inch and drawn up by Mr Percy algden was phcem to Council and upon motionoof Mr Horovitz 1 that it be adopted as officialpseconded by Ur Espy,the motion carried. Mr.Logan called attention to the need of more mules at the camp and informed Council that he could buy two mules in excellent. condition fo :100.00 apiece,whereupon Mr spy made a motion that Yr Logan be given 102 authority to purchase same,which was seconded by Mr Horovitz,and passed. As the needed funds for the beach shore protection work at Lovell Station were still short of the amount necessary it was decided to continue the Sunday Tag Days through to the last Sunday before Labor Day. The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.m. and was attended by tine Mayor,who presided,and Councilmen Horovitz,Farr,Logan, Town Attorney Mclntyre,Mr.J.R.Fawcett and Mr.Wm.S.Scott. Mr. Fawcett presented a petition as attorney for Mr Scott,relative to injuries to Mrs.g'cott and damages to Mr.Sbotts Chevrolet automtbile, caused by Mr George Hosti who ran his automobile into the machine of Mr Scott.Mr Hosti was fined $ 200.00 in the Mayors Court,and Mr Fawcett presented an affidavit from Mr Hosti to the effect that should a refund be allowed him that it be a_?plied against the petition of Mr Scott,who wanted to be reimbursed for the damages sustained by him ir_cidentlo to having the authomobile tepttred and for injuries to Mrs.Scott,which damages he was expecting Mr Hosti to pay,LTr Scott assumed that the costs would amount to about 100.00 -- M± Parr asked if the Recorder thought th t it should be re ended -- - A petition was also presented from Mrs George Eosti wife of George Hosti asking for a refund of the fine imposed -- and the Mayor asked if Council wanted to hear hers first,and Mr Farr said "Yes " -- the Mayor asked ecorder Horowitz .Y %hat was his opinion as reg rds granting a refund to Mrs Hosti and he said he objected to it. The Petition of Mr Scott was referred to the Recorder for his opinion. A petition was read from Frank H.0'Conoor,attorney for P.L.Henry who was fined 200-.00 in the Mayors Court-- Mr.Logan said it was a bad prac- tice to refund fines of this sort -- the petition was referred to the Recorder. The Mayor said that the erosion fund was short approximately $ 1000.00 and that he wanted authority to borrow the sum necessary to take care of a deficit should it develope,Mr.Farr made a motion that the Mayor be empowered to borrow the necessary money,if needed,from one of the local banks and that a resolution to this effect be drawn up when it is, time to negotiate,this was seconded by Mr.Logan and the motion passed. Mr.Logan said noticed that dogs were noticed in the water with bathers and that this practice should be sto:ped. Current bills were passed for payment.
