PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
JANUARY 11, 1993
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
The Chair called the meeting to order in the City Hall
conference room at 4 p.m. Tomi Grote, Kathy Killen, Dean Martens
and Malcolm Scott attended. Jerome Mapp of IDA-ORE and Bud
Schmidt also attended.
II. SNOW SCULPTURE, LEGACY PARK ENTRANCE (3RD AND LAKE
INTERSECTION): ++++++++++
Hal Sager requested permission to construct a significant
sculpture at the intersection. After discussion, Killen moved to
approve the construction of a sculpture in the park as requested.
Martens seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
III. PARK AND RECREATION SERVICES, COMPREHENSIVE PLAN:
A draft of the Park and Recreation section of the city
comprehensive plan was reviewed. The committee discussed, edited
and directed changes in the draft and asked to see the final
draft at their regular meeting on January 18. Mapp agreed to
provide the completed document. No action was taken. Following
the final approval, the section will be submitted with the
complete draft of the Comp Plan to the Joint Planning and Zoning
Commission.
IV. PARK AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN:
The Chair presented drafts of the strategies for accomplishing
the adopted goals and objectives of the Park and Recreation
Program. The Committee agreed to take these up on the January 18
agenda.
V. ADJOURNMENT:
Without further business, Martens moved to adjourn at 5:20
p.m. Scott seconded and the motion carried.
