MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
•
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPEERRATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING AND_POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as
a committee in charge of the operation of the;'Municipal Electric
Lighting and Power Plant of the said City , met in the office of the
Board of Works , Monday, September 7th, 1912, at S 30 P. M. Messrs.
Beeson, Cartwright, Haas, Hibberd, Homan, Huff, Kinder,- Tracy and
w lkins being present;
The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed
with,

Mr. Stevens presented a report on the :proposed purchase of land
for the inter-connection system 4-; ': --with the American
Gas & Electric Corn. 'and recommended that one and one-half acres be
purchased off the Foutt=Jordan farm located on' the North side of the
National Roa.d.,West of the City along the Power Line First Tower,for
the sum of S1750.00. and after some discussion Mr. Kinder moved that
the recommendation of Mr. Stevens be approved and the hand be so nur-
chased.for the interconnection system. With a second by Beeson the
motion was unanimously approved.
A report on the consumption of Electric Current for the month of
August showed a slight reduction in comparison with the same period
of 1941.
Mr. Stevens reported the Public Service Commission of Indiana,
would not approve the nrorosal of a rebate to domestic consummers of
Electric Current as had been discussed by council members but favored
a proposal for a discount for a definite -period , stating it was more of
a Judicial matter rather than for the Commission to decide, the same was
taken under further advisement.
The matter of a. cash refund to the Jenkins Vulcan Spring Co. on the
ra.teing :of"ElectrieCurrent used in the Medical Arts Building beginning
• in June 1939 was discussed and Mr. Stevens recommended no refund be
allowed , which was unanimously annroved. •
• On a, motion by Huff and a second by Hibberd Council approved and
authorized the purchase of 1 four Door Dodge ear for the sum of $1312.25
with a tradein allowance of $135.00 for a 1935 Plymouth Coupe leaving a
net difference of $1177.25 also 1 Chevrolet Tudoor for the sum of $995'..00
with a trade-in allowance for 1, 1935 Chevrolet in the sum of $1408.00
leaving a net difference of $590.00.
After allowing claims in the amount of $51,769.76 on proper
motion they adjourned.
