MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA®
The Common council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving
as a committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Elect-
ric Lighting and Power Plant of the said City, met in the office
of the Board of Works, Monday , May 4th, 1942, at 8:30 F. .M.
Messrs. Beeson, Chambers, Hibberd, Homan, Huff, Kinder, Tracy and
'Wilkins being- present.
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Stevens presented a report on generation for the month of
April stating it showed .2 over the same period for 1941, but the
load had decreased owing to some changes being made •in some of the
factories.
Mr. Stevens reported it was not definitely decided as to how
much of a load the new factory would require probably not _as much
as first anticipated, although 'various estima.teSJhad?_been`presented.
Mr. Stevens reported three transformere' wauld-be purchased for
the new factory, two to be delivered within sixty days and one other
by notices also stating the plant expected to be started by August
1st, 1942.
A report on the proposed interconnection with the American
Gas and Electric Company was presented but Mr. Stevens stated
he had not had time to study it and recommended it be reported
on later , which was approved.
Mr. :Stevens reported the Insurance -Policy on the new Gener-
ating Emaippment would expire May 15th,a191+2 recommending-:thepalicy
be renewed,the same being approved.
After allowing claims in the amount of $32,892.50 on proper .
motion they adjourned.
