MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as
a Committee in dharge of the operation of the Municipal Electric
Lighting .& Power Plant of the said City , met in the office of the
Board of Works, Monday, February 16th, 1942, at S13O P. M. Messrs.
Beeson, Chambers, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Tracy, Weisbrod & Wilkins
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
On the recommendation of Mr. Stevens, Mr. 15inder moved the
sum of $50,000. be transferred from the General Fund of the Municipal
Electric Lighting & Power Plant to the Depreciation Reserve Fund of
the same said Plant,with a second by Weisbrod the motion was approved.
Council discussed the matter of the usual contribution of Electric
Current for the use of the Reid Memorial Hospital and Mr. Weisbrod moved
current in the sum of $3,600. be contributed to the Reid Memorial Hos-
. pital for the ensuing year 1942, and with a second by Kinder the motion
was unanimously approved.
Council approved a contract as a matter of advertising,with the
• local Broadcasting Station WKBV for broadcasting the Sectional Basket-
ball games at Richmond, Regional and Sem-i-final games at Muncie and
Final games at Indianapolis. Mr. 'Stevens stated he had called all the
Council Members available by telephone in regard to the matter,previous
to the regular meeting of Council, before he signed the contract, which
was for the sum:of $ 730.00. '
After allowing claims in the amount of $34,700:33 on proper
motion they adjourned.
