HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-02-1942 d • MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL -ELECTRIC LIGHTING & POWER PLANT OF TIE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. • The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electrib Lighting & Power Plant of the said City, met in the office of the Board of Works, ,Monday, February 2nd, 1942, at g:30 P. M. Messrs. • Beeson, -Charbers, Hibberd, Homan, Kinder, Tracy, Weisbrod & Wilkins® being present the following proceedings were had to-wit. The reading of the minutes of-the preceeding meeting was dis- pensed with. . Mr. Stevens gave a report on the trip to Washington along with Councilman Hibberd and City Attorney Keisker in the interest of the - new equippment now being installed at the Light Plant9 'stating the equippment was in the process of delivery unless the U. S. Navy reauested'the same equippment. After somY gdi,cuss n as to the amount of money which should be contribu o e c Defense Fund;, Mr. Kinder moved that $50.00 be contributed" from the Light -Plant Funds to the said Defense Pund and with a ssedan& the motion was unanimously approved. "mines. present freight rate $1.65 per -ton. Council unanimously approved the renewal of a,yearly contract with the Westinghouse Co. for furnishing the transformers for the use of the Light Lines.
