MEETING OF THE COMM0N COUNCIL,SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IP CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHTING &POWER PLANT
OF THE CITY OP RICHMOND, INDIANA.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as
a Committee in charge of the operation of the Municipal Electric
Lighting 8; Power Plant of the said City, met in the office of the
Board of Works, Monday, January 19th, 1942, at g' 30 P. M; Messrs.
Beeson, Chambers, Hibberd, Homan, Huff, Kinder, Tracy, Weiabrod
and Wilkins being present the following proceedings were had
to-wit;
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Stevens reported on the priority rating given , for the
transformers and other supplies for the completion of work being
done at the Natco.
Councilman Homan was even a great deal of credit , in a talk to
Council by Mayor Britten for the immediate attention given by Federal
Officials in charge of priority rating, stating Mr. Homan!;s effort
and contact with the various officials in Washington D. C. had a lot
to do in regard to results.
Mr. Hibberd moved that Mr. Romans expense account be paid
out of the Light Plant Funds for his trip-to Washington D. C. in
the interest of the Light Plant priority rating. The motion was
second by Kinder and unanimously approved.
On the recommendation of Mr. Stevens; Mr. Kinder moved that
$30,000. be transferred from the General Fund of the Light Plant
to the Depreciation Reserve Fund of the same said Plant and with
a second by Wilkins the motion was approved.
The matter of a coal contract for furnishing coal for the
Light Plant was discussed and referred to Mr, Stevens for further Ill
consideration.
After allowing claims'in the amount of $ 39,064.31 on
proper motion they adjourned.
