AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING
FEMALE DOGS AND CATS IN HEAT TO BE KEPT UNDER RESTRAINT.
WHEREAS, the City Council feels that it is necessary
for owners to restrain female dogs or cats in heat and not permit
them to run at large,
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS:
That Section 6.04.295 FEMALE DOGS OR CATS IN HEAT - FAILURE
OWNER TO RESTRAIN, be added to the Moab Municipal Code and the
same to read as follows:
6.04.295 FEMALE DOGS OR CATS IN HEAT - FAILURE OF OWNER
TO RESTRAIN. Every female dog or cat within the city limits
which is in heat shall be confined in a building or secure
enclosure in such a manner that such female dog or cat cannot
come into contact with another animal except for planned
breeding. It shall be a misdemeanor for an owner of a female dog
or cat in heat to fail to restrain such animal.
