As the needed funds for the beach shore protection work at Lovell Station
were still short of the amount necessary it was decided to continue the
Sunday Tag Days through to the last Sunday before Labor Day.

The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.m. and was
attended by tine Mayor,who presided,and Councilmen Horovitz,Farr,Logan,
Town Attorney Mclntyre,Mr.J.R.Fawcett and Mr.Wm.S.Scott.
Mr. Fawcett presented a petition as attorney for Mr Scott,relative to
injuries to Mrs.g'cott and damages to Mr.Sbotts Chevrolet automtbile,
caused by Mr George Hosti who ran his automobile into the machine of
Mr Scott.Mr Hosti was fined $ 200.00 in the Mayors Court,and Mr Fawcett
presented an affidavit from Mr Hosti to the effect that should a refund
be allowed him that it be a_?plied against the petition of Mr Scott,who
wanted to be reimbursed for the damages sustained by him ir_cidentlo
to having the authomobile tepttred and for injuries to Mrs.Scott,which
damages he was expecting Mr Hosti to pay,LTr Scott assumed that the
costs would amount to about 100.00 -- M± Parr asked if the Recorder
thought th t it should be re ended -- - A petition was also presented
from Mrs George Eosti wife of George Hosti asking for a refund of the
fine imposed -- and the Mayor asked if Council wanted to hear hers
first,and Mr Farr said "Yes " -- the Mayor asked ecorder Horowitz .Y %hat
was his opinion as reg rds granting a refund to Mrs Hosti and he said
he objected to it. The Petition of Mr Scott was referred to the Recorder
for his opinion.
A petition was read from Frank H.0'Conoor,attorney for P.L.Henry who
was fined 200-.00 in the Mayors Court-- Mr.Logan said it was a bad prac-
tice to refund fines of this sort -- the petition was referred to the
Recorder.
The Mayor said that the erosion fund was short approximately $ 1000.00
and that he wanted authority to borrow the sum necessary to take care
of a deficit should it develope,Mr.Farr made a motion that the Mayor
be empowered to borrow the necessary money,if needed,from one of the
local banks and that a resolution to this effect be drawn up when it
is, time to negotiate,this was seconded by Mr.Logan and the motion
passed.
Mr.Logan said noticed that dogs were noticed in the water with bathers
and that this practice should be sto:ped.
Current bills were passed for payment.
The Mayor called attention to the splendid cooperation given by 103
the Central of Georgia Railway in connection with the work being
done at Lovell Station in an effort to check the erosion going on
at that point,and upon motion of Mr.Farr that a suitable resolution
be•drawn up and sent to the officials of the Central of Georgia
Railway,seconded by Mr.Logan,the motion passed unanamously;
RESOLUTION.
BE IT RESOLVED ,by the Mayor and Alderman of the Town of
Tybee,ih Council assembled,that the thanks of this Board are hereby
extended to the Central of Georgia Railway Company for its generous
co- operation and assistance in the work of checking the erosion at
the-north end of Tybee Island, thereby preventing the destrcution of
the paved highway to the beach and the wiping out of additional.

for the Town of Tybee to undertake this work. The spirit the Central
Rai]Lwgy has shown in this matter evidences its deep and continued
interest in the welfare of Savannah and of Tybee and the people of
Tybee appreciates the assistance that has been given them in the
free transportation of supplies,and in the services of its enginners
and other qualified employee in charge of the work now being done.
The Mayor called attention to the excellent co- operation given by the
Chatham County Commissioners in maintaining sanitayy conditions on
the island and also for their help in connection with the work bein„
done et Lovell Station in an effort to check the erosion going on
there,and on motion of Mr Farr that a suitable resolution be drawn
up and sent to the Commissioners,seconded by Mr.Logan the motion
passed unanamously;

BE IT RESOLVCD,by the Mayor and Aldermen of the Town

cordial and earnest co- operation in the improvement and maintenance
of sanitary conditions on Tybee Island,and the many other evidences
of their apprecia ion of the importance and -value of Tybee to the

Mr. Izlar appeared in the interest of his taxes,which are now past
due,being for the years 1927-8,the property is to be advertised for
sale on October 7th,1928,to be sold november 5th 1928 at Court House,
Mr. Izlar said that' it was impossible for him to p-y the taxes due at t
this time and asked for an extension,he said that he had several deals
pending,which if consumated,would permit to liquidate his indebtedness

Council wanted to help him all that it could,Yr Izlar said that,he
was negotiating now Coe a loan on lot 94,and if that -iaterialized
he could take up his obligations right away,so Council.agreed to ex-

Mr. Izlar alsb asked that the Town of Tybee sell hieft if not already

a motion that same be referred to a committee of three to investigate
