The Board of Public Works of the City of Riehnonri, Indiana, i
met in regular session at the office of Salo Board on Wednesday
June 10th, 19089 at to O'clock A.N. All the members of said Boardi
being present: Ne93re, Staubach, Johnson, and O'Neal.
The followiner procPedinFS were had to -wit: -
The Board grants to the cennett Theatre Cc, the right to place
a fire escape 42 Inches in width, running to sidewalk, on the
North side of their theatre buildlnE' corner 8th and North
A Street.
The Board grants to Schneider Bros,Successors to John H.A.
Schneider deceased, an extension of time to July let, 1908, in
which to complete their contract t'or the improvement of South
first street, as provided for by Improvement Resolution No,
127-1907,
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of the contract
under Improvement Resolution No,140-1908, providing for the
improvement of South 8th street, by constructing cement sidewalk
on both sides, from South Ii to South J street, the Board accepts
the same and orders assessment roll prepared.
The Board meets to hear remonstrances, If any, from persons
primarily assessed on account of the improvement of North 21st
street, by grading, and graveling the roadway, and cement curb
gutter, end cement sidewalk, on both sides thereof from North
F street to North F street as provided for by Improvement
Resolution No.132-1908. After hearing all persons who appeared,
the Board approves a final assessment roll, confirming in all
things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and
orders same transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance.
The Board unanimously adopts Improvement Resolution No.143-1908,
providing for the improvement of South A street, from South 2nd
Street to South. 18th street, by constructing Cement curb and
gutter, and Cement sidewalk, on both sides thereof.
The Board approves the Bond and Contract of the Richmond Coal Co
for supplying; Coal to the City as per Contract awarded said
firm May 22nd, 1908,
The Board approves the Bond and Contract of Isaac ;::.Wilcox
providing for the building of an addition to Floral House in
Glen Park.
A petition was received for the va;ation of part of the first
alley North of Chesnut street betweon vrest•3rd street and
west 4th Street, from Lot 2.5 West side Syndicate t;u»div181on
to West 4th street, same was referred to Engineer for drawings
and resolution ordered.

The Board having dRscovered an error in the remonstrance filed
against the improvement of an alley conteMhlated by Improvement
Resolution N0.142-1908, In that the remonstrance as filed did not cc
contain a majority of the resident abutting property owners, and
further, that one of the remonstrators h.,ving filed a petition of
withdrawal of his signature from said remonstrance, and which petit:
the Board grants, therefore, the Board does now instruct the Clerk
advertise for bids for said improvement.
Tha Board did then adjourn.
