HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-13-2023 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 13, 2023 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North .5th Street, Richmond, Indiana, CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Emily Palmer. Matt Evans was absent. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy. City Clerk; June Marshall, Business Manager for the Fire Department; Kara Noe, Purchasing; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of April 6, 2023, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a. vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Ms. Palmer moved to approve the Claims for Payment for April 14, 2023 in the amount of One Hundred Ninety 'Nine Thousand Three Hundred Two 'Dollars and nine cents ($199,302.09), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR .PAYMENT - None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION - None REQUESTS • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS 1.212 Ridge Street 525 Pearl Street 722 North 1511 Street 417 NW "E" Street Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carriod. Board of Works Minutes April 13, 2023 BID OPENINGS • EIFS (EXTERIOR INSTALLATION AND FINISH SYSTEMS) — 930 EAST MAIN STREET There was one bid submitted by Valley Interior Systems, Inc. with a base bid of $153,800.00 and an alternate bid of$75,980.00 This bid was taken under advisement. • RENOVATION OF FIRE STATION NO. 5 Those bids are as follows: Brumbaugh Construction - $471.7, 000.00 Whisenhunt Construction - $320,700.00 Thor Construction —Base - S308,000.00 Alternate - $16,000.00 These bids were taken under advisements. BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 72-2023 — FIRE DEX GW LLC D/B/A GEAR WASH The City retains Contractor to provide services in connection with the cleaning, inspection, limited repair, and maintenance of one hundred seventy (170) sets of turnout gear for the Fire Department. Not to exceed $35,547.00 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 74-2023 SUNESIS ENVIRONMENTAL LLC The City retains Contractor to provide services in connection with asbestos abatement which shall include, but shall not be limited to, providing labor, materials, and equipment to remove asbestos floor tiles and asbestos mastic adhesive from various areas of the station building and flooring located at 1.01 South 5 ' Street for the Fire Department. Not to exceed $6,530.00 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes April 13, 2023 • CONTRACT NO. 75-2023 — KELLEY AUTOMOTIVE GROUP LLC D/B/A KELLY CHEVY, LLC The City retains Contractor to furnish one (1) 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV 4x4 Non-Pursuit SUV for the Fire Department. Not to exceed $44,030.00 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS - None ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. I. TO CONTRACT NO. 160-2022 EVAPAR, INC The City wishes to continue to retain Contractor to continue to provide services in connection with professional and consulting services which include, but not be limited to, the comprehensive inspection and evaluation of the generator and automatic .transfer switch and taking a fuel sample to be submitted far third-party analysis and reporting for the generators located at Fire Stations No. Ifor the Fire Department, as set forth within the scope of Contract No. 160-2022. Not to exceed $2,423.49. Ms. Palmer moved to approve contingent on the Law Department making the needed corrections on the signature page, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. RESOLUTIONS - None PETITIONS - None MISCELLANEOUS None ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
