The Mayor said that a resolution should also be drawn up extending
thanks to the many citizens of Savannah,of Tybeepand elsewhere who
generoulsy contributed to the fund to check the erosion at the north
endland on motion of Mr.Farr that a suitable reeolution be drawn
extending thanks to those citizens who helped by contributing to
. the fund to stop the arosionoseconded by Mr. Logan,the motion
passed unanamous4;
RESOLUTION.
BE .IT RESOLVED,by the Mayor and Aldermen of the Town
of Tybee,in Council assembled,that the Thanks of the bozrd be ex-
tended to trig many citizens of Savannah,of Tybee,and elsewhere,who
by their generous finicial aid and services made it possible to
secure the funds necessary for the purchase of sup, ies with which
to do the work intended to check the erosion at the north end of
Tybee.
There being no further business Council adjurned subject

The regular meeting of Town Council was held to-day .at 4:00 p.m.
aAd-was attended by The Mayor',who nresidedland Councilmen Horovitz,
Walthour,Espy,Town Attorney McIntyre and Messrs.E.B,Izlar,Y.P.Solms,
also Chief Lysaught,
Mr. Izlar appeared in the interest of his taxes,which are now past
due,being for the years 1927-8,the property is to be advertised for
sale on October 7th,1928,to be sold november 5th 1928 at Court House,
Mr. Izlar said that' it was impossible for him to p-y the taxes due at t
this time and asked for an extension,he said that he had several deals
pending,which if consumated,would permit to liquidate his indebtedness
Mr.Cann asked him when he expected to bein position to 1.:ez7,sayle-f, that
Council wanted to help him all that it could,Yr Izlar said that,he
was negotiating now Coe a loan on lot 94,and if that -iaterialized
he could take up his obligations right away,so Council.agreed to ex-
tend the time ef payment of the taxes for 20dayE from October lst.
Mr. Izlar alsb asked that the Town of Tybee sell hieft if not already
done so,the beach extension of lot 94,ward. fourgand Mr.Walthour made
a motion that same be referred to a committee of three to investigate
andaadx-Leel7r. Espy,secondedla th :otion iased..r The Mayor appointed
Mr."-VWA-4;thairman and Messrs. r,Farr and Er.McIntyrete committee
to investigate the matter.
con. Mr.445.Solms'appeared before Council with a petition to open part of 41"
the .Strand from Sixteen* street to Seventeenth street,the matter was

vitz said that he asked M'r.Reed if he wanted take the money put up by
him as bond for Hosti,a.nd. that Mr.Reed said "No let it apply on fine'
Chief Lysaught said that when he asked Mr.Reed,after Mr.Hosti was fined
in C- )urt,if I o Reed wanted the P; 200.00 put up as bond,to apply on fine
that Mr. Reed"'t apply it on the fine as he,Reed,woulci get it back from
osti lwho would pay hir,Reed,ou.t of his goverment insurances -- Nr.Cmnn
asked the Chief if Mr. Peed intended to pay the fine with bond money
andhe said that Mr Reed said to let it apply on Hostis'fine,so T. ?r.Wa1thour
made a motion that as Mr.Reed had paid the fine,it not be refunded. aims
Mr.Jspy, seconded ,arid the motion passed.
A petition was read from C.J.Curley,also one from Captain Grice,ef the
uartermaster Cerps,U.S.Army,requesting that the fine imposed on Mr.
Curley in the Mayors Court be . efunded,Mr. Espy made a motion that the
mater be referred to the Recorder for his rec,ommendation,Mr. Walthour
seconded same,and the motion_ passed.
The Mayor informed Council that considerable work had been done on the
jetties that are being constructed at Lovell Station and that they had
showed signs aliready of accomplishing a vast amount of good,but one r
thing he laid stress on,was that the Town must Get some more convict \VI
help to finish the job.
There being no farther business Council adjourned subject to the call
of the Mayor.

was attended by Mayor Gamble,who presided,and Councilmen Cann,Horovitz,
Logan and. Town Attorney McIntyre.
The Mayor informed Co?ncil that Mr E.B.Izlar had not made a payment nT
on his taxes as he agreed to do and that,therefore,he thought that -
some action should be taken,it was decided to have the Clerk write fa,'
Mr. J...:- .Da le,agent for the executors, informing him that the taxes in
question have not been pe,id..

The Committee appointed to look into the matter whether beach extension
of lot 94 ward four could be sold to Mr. E.B.Izlar was not ready to
report.
The Coamittdie appointed to.ascertain if the Town should open up and
pave the Strand. from Sixteenth to Seventeenth streets,was not ready
t� report.
Recorder Horovitz informed Council that he was not ready to report
on the petition of C.J.Curley for refund of fine imposed upon him
in the Mayors Court.
The Mayor asked Cotancils advise as to whether a Committee shJuld be �!''i
appointed to go before the Council of the City of Savannah and requests
that another appropriation be included in the 1929 budget to be used in
