Amended ED Rider in RP&L Rate Tariff
Included in RP&L's rate tariff is an economic development incentive called the IMPA Economic
Development (ED) Rider. The ED Rider provides incentives to companies expanding in our
community that invest more that $1 million and will have an increased electrical load of at least
I MW. The incentive provides a phased wholesale discount on their electric rates.
IMPA has amended the parameters of this incentive and has capped the incentive at $1 million
per customer per year. As a result, the rate tariff needs to be amended to reflect IMPA's changes
to the ED Rider.
If approved, Ordinance 25-2023 would accept the RP&L Board of Director's recommendation to
amend the rate tariff to include IMPA's new ED Rider guidelines. This amendment does not
impact RP&L customer's rates.
