HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-20-2023 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 20, 2023 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Matt Evans. Emily Palmer was absent. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; Lieutenant Kevin Smith; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; Kara Noe, Purchasing; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of April 13, 2023, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT - None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT - None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION -None REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP SIGN 1232 Ridge Street Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.. • STREET CLOSURE Model T Ford Club of America Home Coming On June 2nd 2023 & June 3, 2023 they are requesting the closure of several streets for the event that includes a Swap Meet, Car Show, and activities at both the Model T Museum buildings locoed at 309 and 310 North 8th Street. The starting time will be at 1. 1:00 p.m. on June 2, 2022 and will end on June 3, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. The street cloAtres that they are asking for are as follows: 1. North 8th Street from North "C" Street to North "B" Street 2. North "C" Street from North 8th Street to North 7th Street Streets will be used for Swap Meet vendor spaces and parking Model Ts and other pre- 1945 Fords. North "D Street will remain open for east-west access. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Richmond Evening Optimist Club Opening Day.Parade Saturday, May 6, 2023 they are requesting road closure to begin at 8:30 a.m. from Mary Scott Park, NW 8th Street, NW "A" Street to Peacock 'Road for the teams to gather. The parade will start at 9:00 a.m. down Peacock Road to NW 13th Street at 9:00 a.m. to the entrance of the Richmond Evening Optimist field. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson.
