HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-11-2023 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 11, 2023 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5111 Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Emily Palmer. Matt Evans was absent. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Kevin Smith; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of May 4, 2023, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Ms. Palmer moved to approve the Claims for Payment for May 12, 2023 in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety Nine Thousand Five Hundred Forty Three Dollars and thirty three cents ($299,543.33), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT -None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION - None REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP SIGN 925 Boyer Stet Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce the motion carried. • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS 320 South 121h Street Board of Works Minutes May 11, 2023 310 North 19'1' Street Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURE Eucharistic Procession This is scheduled on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walkers will convene at St. Andrews Church on South 5'1' Street and "C" Street. They will walk north on 5'11 Street to East Main Street. The procession will turn west at this intersection. They will then walk west eventually crossing the Main Street Bridge. From there they will proceed to just past SW 8`1' Street to the Holy Family Campus. This event is more of a road restriction instead of street closure. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Noise Variance Milestone is requesting a noise variance for the night construction (Milling and Paving) starting June 12, 2023 thru August 31, 2023. This night work will start at 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. This is for the work being clone on North "A" Street. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS -None CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 34-2023 — PERESPONKO PAINTING, LLC The City and the Contractor have agreed that additional exterior cleaning and washing of the second-floor windows and the two-story glass sections on the east and west side of the City Building should be performed by Contractor.
