Also present were: Tony Foster, General Manager; Andrew Sickmann, Corporate C01.11161; Ka,coCbumtmn, City Clerk; Bob [icbtenfc|saod Pete Mayberry, NP&l., Retirees; Donnie Pitohrr` Mary Stephens and Cindy Abner; and, Media. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation ofthe Finance Committee, Board Member Oler moved to approve c|uioou fbc puycncnie in the anoount of Seven Million Six Hundred Eighty Five Thousand E'igb&y8ix Dollars and three cents ($7,685,006.03) suppurtcd by Board K8enohcr lockc. Upon u vote viva vooc, the motion carried 8'0. OLD BUSINESS: Upon paving bids for paving upper parking lot and odiuccot drives for Building and Grounds as previously approved io the budget. Board Member Oler moved to accept the Proof'of Publication, supported by Board Member Engle. Upon uvotc vivmvocc, the motion carried. Bids received: All About Asphalt $216,320 Milestone $263,762 RP&I,--Board of Directors Minutes May 1,2023 Page 2 Board Member Engle moved to refer the bids to the General Manager for due diligence, supported by Board Member Oler. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: RETIRING EMPLOYEES: Mayor Snow read a Proclamation designating May I, 2023 Pete Mayberry and Bob 1,._,icht.enfels day in the City of Richmond to honor them for their many years of service to Richmond Power and Light.. Bob Lichter?fels came to RP&L. as a lawnmower from the Elks Country Club. Lie was hired on September 27, 1973 and spent 49 years, 4 months & 17 days with RP&L. Bob, a lineman,finished his career as Assistant Transmission and Distribution Superintendent. Ile was the first recipient of IMPA 's.Kerry Vincent Distinguished Lineworker Award in 2021. Pete.Mayberryfinished high school early and came to RP&L to inquire about employment the day he finished at the recommendation of his guidance counselor. Ile received an interview the next day, was hired, and began working at RP&L on February 19, .1974., spending 49 years, 1 month & 16 days with RP&L, Pete, a lineman,finished his career as a Lineman Foreman. Bob and Pete have seen many changes at RP&L throughout the years. They have helped build and transform our current distribution system. They have spent countless hours away from'amily responding to outages and emergencies. They have been great trainers, mentors, and friends'to several generations of RP&L employees. On behalf of Richmond Power and Light, General Manager Foster presented each Retiree with a plaque honoring them for their combined 98 years, 6 months & 3 days of dedicated service to the ratepayers of Richmond. We also thank additional 2023 Retirements including Michael Corwin — 42 years; Dave Drudy—34 years; and Marcia Williams 26 years. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: A new billboard has been installed by IMPA on 170 at the National Road East Exit. It. reads "Powering the future of Richmond— IMP.A & RPL.
