HomeMy Public PortalAbout082-2005 - Grant - USEPA - Gas Bldg.ORDINANCE NO. 82-2005 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY BROWNFIELDS CLEANUP GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, The United States Environmental Protection Agency has Brownfields Cleanup Grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with the costs associated with expenses to perform environmental cleanup activities at the Gas Building located along East Main Street; and WHEREAS, a 25% local match will be provided; WHEREAS, 20% will be provided by Indiana Finance Authority and 5% will be provided by the City of Richmond. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Cleanup Grant Program to assist with the costs associated with expenses to cleanup the Indiana Gas Building. 2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00). Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for assistance with the costs associated with expenses to perform environmental cleanup of the Indiana Gas Building site.
