HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-07-2021 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 7,2021 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday,January 7,2020,in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Matt Evans. Absent was Emily Palmer. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Kara Messier,Purchasing; Denise Reitz, Superintendent of Parks and Recreation joined by Zoom; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of December 31, 2020, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for December 23, 2020 in the amount of Two Hundred Twenty Seven Thousand Six Hundred Four Dollars and eighty four cents ($227,604.84), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for December 31,2020 in the amount of One Hundred Eighty Two Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Four Dollars and sixty five cents ($182,594.65), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for January 8, 2021 in the amount of Three Hundred Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Forty Two Dollars and twenty five cents ($308,842.25), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for December 31, 2020 in the amount of Eight Hundred Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Forty Two Dollars and twenty five cents ($809,842.25), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes January 8,2021 PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment For Pension for December 31, 2020 in the amount of Two Hundred Sixty Three Thousand Six Hundred Forty Two Dollars and fifty six cents ($263,642.56), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS • GAS & FUEL FOR 2021 The award goes to Harvest Land Co Op. There will be fixed pricing for regular unleaded 87 octane and premium road diesel. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon.a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to allow Vicki Robinson to sign Contracts 186-2020 and 187-2020 for • this award, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 184-2020—INDOT This is a grant agreement with INDOT for Local Roads and Bridges Matching Grants.This contract is for the milling and paving of Industries Road from US 27 to Union Pike. The existing damaged guardrail will be replaced and the road will be striped with thermoplastic. The maximum amount of state funds allocated for the Project is $250,236.50. These funds are to pay for 50% of the project. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 188-2020—INDOT—(Des No.: 1702769) • This is a Project Coordination Agreement that stipulates the state will participate 80% of eligible project cost to secure right-of-way involving the Complete Streets Loop Project (Pedestrian and Bike Path). The estimated cost involving right-of-way $87,065.00. The City's match is 20% Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes January 8,2021 CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 124-2020 — THOR CONSTRUCTION Thor Construction is the company that is doing the Stabilization and Preservation of the former CSX Property. There are 25 rafters that need to be repaired. The increased amount is $3,516.36. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ADDENDUMS-None RESOLUTIONS -None PETITIONS • CURB CUT 1530 NW 5th Street Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS-None ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
