HomeMy Public PortalAbout026-2023 - Budget - Amendment to #34-2022 ORDINANCE NO.26-2023 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.34-2022 KNOWN AS THE 2023 SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments,except police officers and firefighters,prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and WHER.FAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerk's office prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget.year subject to the approval of Comuum C:otincif,and WHEREA.S, "lhe compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may he reduced by the May fin each appointive officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments set forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office;except by amendment approved by. Common Council;and WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 34-2022 to establish salaries for the year 2023 and now finds it necessary to amend the salaries within the Fire Lkpartment. NOW,THEREFORLi,be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set tbrth during,the calendar year 2023,to wit; 2023 Annual Salary Range ire Department Fire Chief 83,372.49 E.:.,xempt Assistant Fire Chief 72,078.00 72,959.49 Exempt Deputy Chief of Prevention 67,569.49 Exempt Chief of EMS --70065,00 70,946,49 Exempt Deputy Chief of Training ---6648.8,00 67,569,49 Exempt Battalion Chief(3) 67,569.49 Non-exempt TEMtQRARY RYA R.T7T Mc In addition to the positions set forth above,the Mayor and the City Department I may,as needed, hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may range from S7.25 to$15.00 per hour. Due to the specialized training required, compensation for Certified Paramedics may range from$7.25 to$18.00 per hour. QNAL COMP ENSATION In addition to the salaries set forth above,certain employees,excluding members of the Board of Works and Safety,the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board,may he entitled to additional compensation, such es,overtime,compensation time etc., and fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
