ORDINANCE NO.27-2023
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.37-2022 KNOWN AS
THE ANNUAL COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS OF RICHMOND FIREFIGHTERS
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d)requires Common Council(tithe City of Richmond, Indiana
to fix the annual compensation of all firefighters by ordinance before November 1st
of each year for the ensuing budget year;and.
Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d)also authorizes the Board of Public Works and Safety to
fix the compensation of members of the Fire Department if the Common Council tails
to do so;and
WfiEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond that the Common Council of the City
of Richmond,Indiana proceed to fix the annual compensation of the Richmond
firefighters pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d).
WHEREA.S, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 37-2022 to establish salaries
for the year 2023 and now finds it necessary to amend the salaries of Richmond
Firefighters.
NOW,TbIERER.)RE,be it ordained by the(1.;ornmon.Council of the City of Richmond,Indiana,
that pursuant.to Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d)the.following positions arc authorized by the Common Council
to be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during calendar year 2023,to wit:

NOW,'THEREFORE,be it also ordained by the Common Ci.itincil of the City of Richmond.Indiana,
that as additional compensation to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 2.02 through 2.05 above,all
benefits finalized and as in the fully executed contract between the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf
(tithe City of Richmond.Indiana and the Richmond Professional Firefighters,Inc.All.„-C10 Local 1408
is incorporated by reference.
