A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT'S ORGANIZATIONAL CHART FOR FY14 -15
AND TO AUTHORIZE THE HIRING OF TEMPORARY STAFF FOR THE VACANT
AND APPROVED POSITIONS UNTIL THE POSITIONS ARE PERMANENTLY
FILLED
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department comprise of various divisions
delivering services such as maintenance of facilities, streets, sewer and water
infrastructure, street lighting, traffic signals, alleys and parks; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department prepares and manages the City's
Capital Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department strives to provide economical and
efficient services to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department sees an opportunity to modify the
organizational chart of the Public Works Department by replacing vacant management
positions with general employee positions; and realign current staffing with delivery of
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves the organizational chart of the
Public Works Department as attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the following staff position changes
for FY 14 -15:
1) To delete a vacant CIP Manager and a vacant Public Works Associate position.
2) To add two (2) Public Works Technicians and one (1) Public Works Assistant
positions.
3) To delete one (1) Custodian from Building Maintenance Division.
4) To add one (1) Building Maintenance Worker
Section 3. That the City Council authorizes staff to fill vacant positions, as
listed below, with temporary staff until the positions are permanently filled:
1) Administrative Analyst III position (vacant)
2) Three (3) Permit Technicians positions (vacant)
3) One (1) Public works Assistant position (vacant)
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon'its adoption
