et The regular meeting of Torn Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.m.,and
was attendned by the Mayor,who presided,and Councilmen Horovitz,Cann,
Logan and Espy and Town. Attorney McIntyre.
The Mayor informed Council that the Town was indebted to the C.R,R.
$ 1241.59 this being a balance due for materials bought by the C.R.rt.
for the Town to be used in construction the jetties at Lovell Station,
they had requested that payment be made but as the Town did no have
the money to pay same he wanted the authority to borrow this amount
frpm one of the local banks so that the C.R.R. could be paid,so Mr.
Espy made a motion that the Mayor be empowered to borrow the amount
needed,this was seconded by Mr.Horovitz,and the motion passed;

RESOLUT I DN
RESOLVED that the IMayor be and he is hereby authorized
and directed,for the purpose of supplying a casual definciency in
revenue now existing,to borrow form such bank or banks of the
City of Savannah as may be selected by him,the sum of Twelve
Hundred Forty -one Dollars (1241.59) Fifty -nine cents for
such time and upon such terms as the Mayor shall agree upon and to
evidence said loan by executing in the name of and on behalf of the
Mayor and Council of the Town of Tybee a note or notes not exceeding
in the aggregate the principal sum of Twelve Hundred Forty- one(1241.5.9)
Dollars and Fifty -nine cents and that said note or notes shall be
executed under the official seal of the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town
of Tybee attested by the Clerk of Council. -
Mr. Horowitz suggested that the Town approach the City of Savannah
with a view toward getting an appropriation for the coming year,ho said
that he didnt think that the tag days would help very much -- Mr. Logan
su -ested a,_•king for p 5000.00 -- the said that it would be a good idea
to have the entire Board appear before the Board of the City of Savannah
relative to this.
Mr Logan informed Council that he had purchased from Mr. Henry C.Walthour
the mule that he had kmarat previously been given authority to purchase
ford 100.00.
The architects plans of the Freash Air Home were shown to Council and
the opinion was that the developement was a s1lendid thing for Tybee.
A very bad washout occurred under the asphalt pavement on the curve
between Campbell Avenge and Seventh Avenue caused the reent rains and
tides it being necessary huild a concrete retianing wall on each side
of the street to protect both the pavement and the large culvert that
runs beneath the street.
The Mayor said that the Town should get out some advertising etven if
it was done in a small way,he suggested that some new folders be gotten
out this year,the opinion of Council was that they be printed and Mthe
Clerk was instructed to get some new pictures that could be used in the
work.

Discussion was had on lack of sporting events on the island the Mayor
suggested that things of this kind were interesting and helpful and.
Should be encouraged and for this reason the had named a committee
to be known as the Committee on Sports and had placed on same Mr.Logan,
Yr. Horovitz and Mr. Buckley with power to work with other committees
or individuals as was necessary to encourage sports and other events
on the island.
There being no further business Council adjourned subjec to the call

The regtlar meeting of Council was held to-day at 4:00 p.m.and was
attended by the 1layur,who presidedvand Councilmen Logan,Horovitz,
Espy,Cann and Town Attorney McIntyre.
The report of the Assessment ComMittee coveing the assessments for
the year 1929 was read and upott motion of Yr Horovitz that it be
adopted,seconded by Mr.Espy,the motiotcpassed .
The Mayor informed Council that he had approached. Mr. H.C.Brinkman
.Chairman of the Finanace Committee of the City of Savannah relative to
getting an aperopriation from the City of Savaenah,the Mayor had asked
for 73 5000.00.
The Mayor informed Council that he hal gotten in touch with Mr.Tiedeman
Chairman of The County Commissioners in an effort to F7et some shell for
paving some of the streets on Tybee and that Mr Tiedeman informed him
that he was opposed tth using shell for road work.
The question of the rite t of the Town to make a charge for automobiles
usjnp t' e streets was duscussed and the Mayor said that he had asked
the Town Attorney to give Lim an opinion on the mater T.A. said
that Town could not do so -- Mr. Cann asked what was penelty if Town
did charge them,ke said sups that Council would pass an Ordinance
chargeing automobiles 25e' per machine for the privilege of using the -
streets or the Ti of Tybee -- Mr. 4ogan saia we make them .ay it mieht

It being necessary to se a new motorcycle for use during the ae-roacl,ing
sessen 77".r. Horovitz saggested that a new new machine be purchased. Mr.Cann
sugnestd that the Clinty be approached wit a view to having them take
over Police Department during the summer months and if smssible to let
the Town have the use cfef one of their motorcycles during this Period.
Mr. Horovitz made a not,on that if it is neceoeary to buy a new machine
that authority be given the Police Committee to purchase eame,this was
seconded by Mr. Espy and the motion _sassed.
