AN APPROPRIATION ORDDNANCETO BE KNOWN AS
THE 2024 SALARY ORDINANCE
VV}iEQ6A9, Indiana Code 36'4'7'3 requires the Mayor xn fix the compensation ofeach
appointed officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments, except
police oOficemand Orcfiuh(ers, prior to November | for the ensuing budget
year auhicctiothe approval of Common Council; and
VV}{6RE/\8, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation ofthc deputies and
cnop|oyeexof the Clerk's oft-ice prior io November | for the ensuing budget
year Subject to the approval nf Common Council; and
VVlI[RE&8, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year
for which it is fixed but may be reduced by the Mayor for each appointive
officer, deputy and other cnopnyecof the city departments set forth herein or
by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office; except by amendment
approved hyCommon Council.

|n addition \o the positions set forth above, the Mayor and City Department
leads may, uo needed, hire and compensate part-time ortemporary employees ospermitted
by their respective budgets Compensation for these posotions may range from $7.25 to
$l5.00 per hour. Due tn the specialized training required, compensation for hour. Certified
Paramedics may range Orono $7,25tw $22.00 per hour. BMTm may range from $7.25to $l8.00
per hour.
